The Role
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal to the core management of the financial data and processes, ensuring the financial integrity of Gowrie NSW. You will support the CFO by managing the finance team’s accurate transaction processing, reporting and analysis, while also managing a team of up to 5 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Control: Ensure timely and accurate month-end transactions, close processes, reconciliations, and reporting. Manage payroll and ensure on-time compliance with ATO requirements, including BAS, FBT, and Single Touch Payroll.
- Finance Systems: Oversee and manage the Microsoft Business Central General Ledger system, Elmo Payroll and Tanda Time & Attendance systems to ensure timely and essential upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives are undertaken.
- Business Partner: Act as the key finance business partner, providing financial insights and guidance to internal stakeholders and supporting decision-making processes.
- Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and update finance policies, manage debt and expenditure recognition, and lead continuous improvement efforts across finance systems and processes.
- Leadership: Provide support and guidance to the finance team, ensuring an effective and efficient working environment
Skills & Experience
- A University degree in accounting, with CA/CPA qualification.
- 10+ years' experience in financial and management accounting roles, with a deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation legislation.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Payroll systems and processes as well as Power BI is highly desirable.
- Financial experience in Early Education and Care sector
- Ability to manage and resolve issues, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Hands-on approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
