Job Description

We are looking to appoint a passionate and experienced Assistant Centre Director who will support the Centre Directo in the operations and educational program of the centre. The key requirements of the role are as follows: 

  • Support the Centre Director to lead and develop a team of educators and teachers to deliver high quality education and care. 
  • Be responsible for supporting the Centre Director in the day to day management and leadership of the centre.
  • Work with the Centre Director to build and nurture relationships with families, community stakeholders including local schools and support services. 
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with legislation and standards
  • Work in partnership with Educational Leader and Centre Director.
  • Engage collaboratively within Gowrie Centre Director network and other support structures and resources.

We are seeking someone who can truly be an ambassador for early education and our organisation, inclusive of Gowrie NSW vision and values of caring, purposeful, inclusive, integrity and authentic. 

Essential requirements for the position are: 

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or experienced Diploma with proven leadership roles
  • Current Working With Child Check
  • Completion of approved Child Protection course
  • Current approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management certificates 
  • Experience in past leadership roles in early childhood education
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of the National Quality Standards, legislation, Early Years Learning Framework and contemporary pedagogies that influence practice 
  • Open to learning, well organised and clear communicator with effective verbal and written skills
